About Me

Family

I am Kathryn Moore. The first thing to know about me, is that I love my family!  I’m married to the greatest guy in the world and have two darling daughters and a handsome son. They light my world.

Teaching

Another source of light in my life is violin, and my students that I get to explore the musical world with.  I’ve been teaching violin lessons for over ten years. After graduation from BYU as a violin performance major, I began teaching lessons out of my home and have loved it!

Performing

The Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra is a wonderful group located in Highland, UT.  This is my fourth year playing in this group. I love the wide span of classical to modern music we perform. Need a classical night out?  Check out the TSO website for concert dates and info!

Weddings

I also perform as a freelance musician with my professional string quartet at weddings and parties. The violinist next to me is actually my Mother!  She deserves much of the credit for the violinist I am today. We have a great time making beautiful music together.

Clarinet, marimba, and violin trio

In the Spring of 2019, I had the opportunity to participate in a Doctorate recital with the piece And Legions Will Rise by Kevin Putts.

In Summary

Here are a few experiences I’ve had that make me a great violin teacher: Graduated from BYU with my degree in violin performance, taught quality violin lessons for over ten years, kept up my technique by playing in a well-respected orchestra, play in a professional string quartet, won competitions, recorded movie soundtracks and concert background music for artists, been concert mistress to multiple orchestras, received specialized Suzuki and other methods of training, taken lessons from over ten amazing violinists, and I love my students.
